PINK FAIRY ARMADILLO
Its Amazing Adaptations:The Pink Fairy Armadillo’s amazing adaptation is that it can bury
itself in a matter of seconds! Since it lives in a sandy/dirty environment, its ability to dig is very useful. When this nocturnal animal feels threatened, it uses its large front paws to quickly dig a burrow for it to hide in. It also uses its hard shell on it back as a cover for the burrow. The reason the Pink Fairy Armadillo adapted this skill is because one of its biggest predators is the Coyote. Coyotes are very fast runners, therefore this armadillo has to use its unique adaptation to hide from the predator. Another feature of this animal is that it can dig through dirt like how a fish can swim through water. That’s how much of an impressive digger this omnivore is! |
